The inaugural ISETS Forum successfully held in Chengdu, China

The first ISETS Energy Transition Forum was held on 25 June 2021 in Chengdu, China. The Forum was sponsored by the International Society for Energy Transition Studies (ISETS), which is a non-profit professional organization based in Australia with members from more than 40 countries and more than 10 international organizations. The ISETS seeks to facilitate an equitable and inclusive transition of energy and relevant sectors toward a sustainable low-carbon future with consideration of economic development, social equity, and environmental stewardship through international partnerships. The first ISETS Energy Transition Forum marks the official launch of the ISETS colloquium series, a major event of the ISETS seeking to create a platform for multi-stakeholder dialogues and debates through connecting different countries and regions. This Forum was jointly hosted by the Team for Integrated Energy and Environmental Research Studies (TIERS) of the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and the research team of the Major Program of the National Social Science Fund of China titled “China’s oil and gas market system and mechanism reform under energy security constraints” (Grant number: 20&ZD110); as well as supported by the China Energy Finance Network and the Society for the Studies of Climate Finance (SSCF) affiliated to the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics. 

More than 30 scholars and researchers participated in the Forum, who are from 12 prestigious institutions and universities in China. These include the Institutes of Science and Development at Chinese Academy of Sciences, Renmin University of China, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Xiamen University, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Central South University, Sichuan University, Sichuan Agricultural University, Southwest Petroleum University, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
