As extreme weather events become more frequent and climate change continues to intensify, climate risk is increasingly prominent, profoundly impacting socio-economic development and the stability of financial systems. The uncertainties associated with climate change lead to a sharp rise in both physical climate risks and transition risks, affecting the stability of the financial system through various channels. How micro enterprises, financial institutions, and policymakers identify, assess, and manage these climate risks holds significant value and practical implications for maintaining the stability and adaptability of the financial system. Exploring the relationship between climate risk and financial stability within the context of a strong financial nation strategy has become a focal point for many scholars.
To facilitate broader and deeper discussions on this topic, the eighth carbon neutrality and climate finance forum will be held on October 20, 2024, in Nanchang, Jiangxi. This forum is jointly organized by the ISETS Energy Finance Network and the Studies of Climate Finance, Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning, and Economical Mathematics. It will be hosted by the School of Finance at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, with co-sponsorship from the Carbon Finance Research Center and the Financial Development and Risk Prevention Research Center at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. The forum will focus on discussions related to climate risk and financial stability, and we warmly invite experts, scholars, and professionals from various fields to submit papers and participate.
