The inception of the “International Conference on Climate and Energy Finance” (ICEF) dates back to 2018 and was initiated by Professor Qiang Ji and Professor Zhang Dayong. The primary goal of this conference is to propel research development within the realm of climate and energy finance in China while fostering academic exchanges on both domestic and international fronts. The organizational and coordination responsibilities for the conference rest with the ISETS Energy Finance Network and the Studies of Climate Finance, Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning, and Economical Mathematics. Over the years, ICEF has been successfully hosted in various cities such as Beijing, Kunming, Qingdao, Xiamen, Nanjing, and Changsha. The conference has consistently attracted the participation of experts and scholars from over 20 countries and regions, representing more than 200 universities. Recognized in the China Association for Science and Technology’s “Important Academic Conference Guide” for four consecutive years, ICEF has played a crucial role in advancing the development of climate and energy finance disciplines and contributing to talent cultivation in China.
The 2019 International conference on Energy Finance: Energy transition and environmental challenge: market development and financialisation, held by Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, School of Finance and jointly organized by Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics and China Energy Finance Network in conjunction with International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Emerging Market Finance and Trade, Finance Research Letters, and Chinese Journal of Management Science (In Chinese), will take place on 18-19 May 2019 in Kunming, China.
The conference will provide a platform for international scholars to share their frontier research. It also aims to provide a valuable forum for practitioners, policymakers and academics to discuss and critical analyze the major issues and challenges in the area of energy finance.

IDEAS/RePEc ranks him among the top 40 young economists in the world.
Professor Peng Zhou

Professor Zhou is Professor and Dean of the School of Economics and Management, China University of Petroleum at Qingdao. Dr. Zhou was a winner of the China National Science Foundation for Outstanding Young Scientists, listed in the Elsevier Most Cited Chinese Researchers (2014-2017). He is an Editor of Energy Policy, an Associate Editor of Energy Economics and an editorial board member of Energy Efficiency.

City Information
Kunming, the modern capital city and transportation hub of China’s southern Yunnan province, has a large student population and a temperate year-round climate. Bridges and pavilions cross the islands of Cui Hu (Green Lake), a park designed in the 17th century. Nearby is Yuantong Si. A temple founded by Buddhists in the 8th century, it features a statue hall and a pond with an ornate stone bridge.
Dianchi Lake
Dianchi Lake is located at the foot of the Western Hills south-west of Kunming city in Yunnan Province. Being a bright and smooth highland lake, it’s reputed as “A Pearl on the Yungui Plateau”. The picturesque lake, dotted with sails, appears green and boundless and shining with ripples. Along its 150 kilometers long winding bank, lies numerous scenic spots and historical sites such as the Grand View Pavilion, West Garden, the Lake Embankment.
Stone Forest
The Stone Forest or Shilin is a notable set of limestone formations about 500 km2 located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province，near Shilin approximately 90 km (56 mi) from the provincial capital Kunming. The tall rocks seem to arise from the ground in a manner somewhat reminiscent of stalagmites, or with many looking like petrified trees, thereby creating the illusion of a forest made of stone. Since 2007, two parts of the site, the Naigu Stone Forest and Suogeyi Village, have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst. The site is classified as a AAAAA-class tourist site.
