The inception of the “International Conference on Climate and Energy Finance” (ICEF) dates back to 2018 and was initiated by Professor Qiang Ji and Professor Zhang Dayong. The primary goal of this conference is to propel research development within the realm of climate and energy finance in China while fostering academic exchanges on both domestic and international fronts. The organizational and coordination responsibilities for the conference rest with the ISETS Energy Finance Network and the Studies of Climate Finance, Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning, and Economical Mathematics. Over the years, ICEF has been successfully hosted in various cities such as Beijing, Kunming, Qingdao, Xiamen, Nanjing, and Changsha. The conference has consistently attracted the participation of experts and scholars from over 20 countries and regions, representing more than 200 universities. Recognized in the China Association for Science and Technology’s “Important Academic Conference Guide” for four consecutive years, ICEF has played a crucial role in advancing the development of climate and energy finance disciplines and contributing to talent cultivation in China.
The 2018 International conference on Energy Finance: Frontiers and future developments, jointly organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Zhejiang University, and Society for the Study of Emerging Markets, in conjunction with International Review of Financial Analysis, Energy Economics, Emerging Market Finance and Trade, Chinese Journal of Management Science (In Chinese), will take place on 14-15 April 2018 in Beijing, China.
The conference will provide a platform for international scholars to share their frontier research. It also aims to provide a valuable forum for practitioners, policymakers and academics to discuss and critical analyze the major issues and challenges in the area of energy finance.
On behalf of the organizing committee and scientific committee, we would like to invite submissions of high quality, internationally focused, original researches. Papers to be considered include but not limit to the following topics:

- Energy and other commodity market interactions
- Energy corporate finance
- Energy risks: assessment and modeling

Professor Brian Lucey

Professor Lucey has worked as a statistician in the Department of Health and as an Economist in the Central Bank, prior to joining Trinity College Dublin. He has studied at graduate level in Canada, Ireland and Scotland, and holds a PhD from University of Stirling. Professor Lucey has served as the editor for International Review of Financial Analysis since 2013, He is the founding editor of Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance and also chief editor of Financial Research Letters
Professor Ying Fan

Professor Fan is one of the leading energy economists in China and currently the vice president of International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). She has published over 180 peer reviewed journal articles, 10 books, and carried out more than 50 research Grants. She received many awards include: the Distinguished Young Scientists from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), One Hundred Talents from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
