The 2018 International conference on Energy Finance co-organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics was held on 14-15 April 2018 in the Academic Hall of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China. The theme of the conference is “Energy Finance Frontiers and Future Developments”. Nearly 180 delegates from 15 countries gathered to exchange and discuss the latest research progress and achievements in the field of energy finance.
Since the twenty-first century, the world’s energy structure has undergone profound changes, energy price has become more volatile and energy market has entered into a VUCA era, that is, volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. As a result, it is critical to further study energy market issues but more from a finance perspective. Indeed, the strategic importance of energy and green development makes financial issues more unique and relevant, which inevitably leads to further separation of energy finance from general financial research.
The purpose of this conference is to encourage domestic scholars to track the international frontiers in the field of energy finance, promote innovative research and discipline development in the field of domestic energy finance, and promote exchanges and cooperation between domestic scholars and international counterparts.
The conference co-sponsors include Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Zhejiang University, Peking University, Beihang University, Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, Society for the Study of Emerging Markets, and China Management Science. The 2019 International Conference on Energy Finance will be undertaken by the school of finance, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.
