According to the US-based Stanford University “Ranking of the World Scientists: World’s Top 2% Scientists”, 15 researchers from the Society for the Studies of Climate Finance (SSCF) are among the 2% of the most influential in the world in their scientific career or among the most influential in 2019. 13 of them are part of both lists.
The Stanford University ranking is considered the most prestigious in the world, including more than 160,000 scientists from various disciplines. The ranking identifies the global leading scientists in their own areas of specialty based on data from Scopus that ranks journals and provides a citation index. Standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations of articles in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator are provided. The data is shown separately for the impact of one year and the entire career to measure the long-term performance and influence of the scientists.
The 10 researchers included in the 2019 most influential list are the SSCF Advisory Committee experts Shouyang Wang, Ying Fan, Zhongxiang Zhang, Boqiang Lin, Peng Zhou, Zhaohua Wang, Bin Chen, Brian Lucey, Lutz Kilian, and Shunsuke Managi. The SSCF chairperson Dayong Zhang, vice-chairperson Qiang Ji, Yuejun Zhang, Qunwei Wang and Yudong Wang are also among the 2019 “Top 2%” and are all among the top 1% of the list. The researchers included in the most influential in their scientific career are Shouyang Wang, Ying Fan, Zhongxiang Zhang, Boqiang Lin, Peng Zhou, Zhaohua Wang, Bin Chen, Brian Lucey, Lutz Kilian, Shunsuke Managi, Dayong Zhang, Qiang Ji and Yuejun Zhang.
Congratulations to our top scientists on making to the listing! This recognition demonstrates SSCF’s influence in the field of climate finance and signifies our dedication in conducting world-class research.
The SSCF was founded in 2020 building on the previous activities of the China Energy Finance Network. The SSCF is affiliated to the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics (http://www.scope.org.cn/), which is one of the most important academic societies and professional organizations of Chinese scholars engaging in optimization, overall planning, economic mathematics, and management science. Researchers of the SSCF focus on cutting-edge issues in the field of energy and climate finance and conduct extensive exchanges and cooperation with scholars from home and abroad. Since 2020, the Society has held several domestic and international conferences, with a goal of developing and promoting research in energy and climate finance. Other Society events include organizing and hosting aperiodic mini-conferences and workshops covering diverse themes and topics in the field of climate finance each year. The Society publishes special issues in collaboration with a wide range of internationally renowned SCI and SSCI journals to promote the international influence of the Society members. The Society is particularly keen in supporting young design researchers.
